I see, so like all holidays it has become commercialised to earn more money, i wish we got back to having holidays and celebrate them withouth all the gifts and the stress following.

see you'all didnt miss me one bit!
(yes I was gone, yes I went shopping on black friday, however; where I went shopping was not someplace most people were so it was ok--now the snow I could have done without)..
sports...you are STILL talking about that!??

xmas shopping....mine is all done (I only buy for a few select people now, as I dont have kids and see no reason to buy things from a list from other-older- people--so my 'list' gets shorter every year), hubby still has a bunch to get. I do mine throughout the year so as not to get hit at one time with a ton of stuff to get. (and when I was buying for my family and nieces/nephews--over 20 people+friends--it was just too much for my bank account to handle at one time).

still to do:
xmas cards (finally bought them ...just got back home so this week I will decorate and do my cards...should get them out before....xmas )

I would have missed you, but I was gone too. Didn't check in much since I was busy for Thanksgiving with my fiancee's family and such. Was a lot of fun but we were pretty darn busy. Glad to be home.

I got some things for my nephew but that is it. Meh, I'll do more later.

Well i missed you both so, yeah hah!

We have offers from stores every week on different items, so each week we can save money on groceries if we go the right place.

yeah, they do that here too....BUT if you shop at those stores, other items are more expensive (its how they make money--offer deals on one item and raise the price on another).
I just shop for groceries at 2 stores, one has mostly organic stuff and the other is a major chain for the items that the organic doesnt sell--like female products and name brand stuff (no twinkies at the organic store! )...though there is a local grocer that I recently found that has a few unique items that I like so I shop there once every few months.

got my new rope lights up today and picked up my mail...only 30 catalogs for the few days I was gone...and some were repeats within those few days too

Stores are always having "sales" every week. Just a matter of finding out which sales are actually sales.

Well, it's quite easy to figure out, i remember the normal prices in my head, for some reasons, names and numbers are things i rarely forget.

You're already decorating Cosy? and damn, 30 catalogs, i get mad if i get 1, i hate them a lot, mainly because i still get them even with a "no commercials" sticker on my mailbox.

there is less than a month to xmas, I usually start right after thanksgiving here--but wanted to get my lights up outside before it snows/gets too dang cold, probably wont do the rest until next weekend.

yeah I get about 10 catalogs a day during this season---some I dont mind (like the cookie ones or the cooking ones), but some I just have to wonder how I (or my hubby) got on their lists (strange thing is he is usually on the list for stuff I bought and vise versa). I like it when they tell me 'this is your last catalog unless you order' ...I say 'thank the 5 gods!', but some how....sometime in the future, I am back on their list yet again (not having ordered anything).
/sigh

I missed you Cosy!

I will not decorate until we get the tree - probably the weekend of the 8th or if we fail that the 15th. Have my cards mostly donr though - I want to get them posted on Saturday.

Saw the best present for all the children in the family but it is only available on an american website and the postage seems rediculous so I gave up ^^

I have my half tree for my wall and my fabric one I made a bunch of years ago...didnt get around to taking them out yet--was dealing with my catalogs (only 2 new ones today).

thanks aeronwen! and yeah sometimes the postage is horrible (I ebay some items and a few german sellers seem to think that it cost 50+ euros to mail a small plush toy to the usa--we are talking beanie baby size and no beans!--should cost about 6-12 euros MAX, I wonder if the send their toys via personalized carrier or are hand delivering them for that cost!)

I actually just got a Menard's one in the mail. I mean really, Menard's? Come on... I'm not buying my parents some 2x4's and my dad has all the tools he needs. Geez......

I think some people actually buy the packages planes on a seat, then arrange to have someone waiting to pick it up before it is put in a box and dropped off at your door. Pretty sure that is what happens.

menards...get those everyweek---thats not a REAL catalog, its a 'flier'
yeah I was thinking that ...but the carrier is dhl--not quite sure why its so blinkity-blinken expensive to use (I sent stuff with them from japan and it wasnt too bad--better than fed ex or the post)

so started working on my cards...dang thought my list was shorter this year, but my nieces and nephews have finally moved out of their parents homes so now I have a bunch of NEW ones....ah well, it gives me something to do, and a chance to keep my postal carrier in business! gotta get my foreign ones done soon or they will get them next year

but alas its not quite december yet, so I still have time to...

yes

procrastinate

Oh they sent me a real catalog this time. Or maybe it was like 15 fliers stapled together... Hmm.

Procrastination is great. I think I'll celebrate all the procrastinators out there! Tomorrow.

ah friday...

in news: hostesssss is going bankrupt and the union employees are out of jobs since they wouldnt agree to the cuts (though--the big wigs of the company are getting almost 2 MILLION in incentives while the company goes down the drain...just wrong).
the congress has been trying for years to ditch the penny, so for a twist; now they are trying to ditch the dollar bill! instead they want all you guys out there to carry the dollar coin (which weighs a ton and looks exactly like a quarter--whose stupid idea was that???)...lol in a big way.
idiots

Hostess? How many times does one say I will take a cut, before saying no more? One guy, 6 years ago, was making about 60k a year on straight time. Now working a lot of overtime, is making 45k. The higher ups need to take the cuts too. (Read that on Yahoo awhile back.)

What's with this weather? Last day of November and nearly 70 degrees. Getting warm in here and the house is winterized.
